Right now either my laptop’s wireless card or my router is totally messed up, thus meaning I can only browse the web and feed reader (and twitter) on my desktop, which is more often used for things like video games. That means I haven’t checked anything on the intertubewebs since I left work yesterday! And that means I’m late to the party started by Dana!

100 percent honest day!!!

Anyway, I had this big thought about nowish that went something like this: Wouldn’t it be great to be so ballsy self-assured that I could just be 100% honest with people?

Well I sooooo am that ballsy stoopid self-assured.

Tomorrow, a one-day event: Dana’s Be 100% Honest Day.*

Swing by. Ask questions. You are sure to get interesting answers. And don’t you think I am only doing this on the ’nets and such. I am so fuckin’ ballsy ridiculously stoopid self-assured that I will be doing this from waking until I turn in for the night, everywhere and with everyone.

Quite a few other people have joined in on this extravaganza of stoopidity forthrightness

100% honest day participants

So Go On, ask me anything you want**. Since I’m late, I’ll do what the Polka Dot Witch is doing and give you all some extra time. 24 hours. And then some since I’ll be at work tomorrow. 27 hours. Until noon, central time.

*Of course, because I am late, tomorrow is Today.

**Not, though, that I guarantee interesting answers. I do invite everyone to try their best to elicit them.***

***Maybe Dana is on to somethign with these recursive footnotes.****

****Is it still a footnote when it footnotes a note?*****

*****I bet the Chicago Manual of Style could tell me, but it’s at home and I am not.

Hi. I suck. I didn’t add you to the participant list. It was inadvertent, but still I suck. I posted a whole post about what I did and how I suck.

Now a belated 100% Honest Day question: What is one way in which you suck?

P.S. Loving the spiffy new digs over here. Is this Wordpress? Blogger? Do tell.

    Dana-
This is Wordpress self-hosted (well, Bluehost hosted) with a customized Brian Gardner theme.

One way in which I suck? Hm. While I should like to say none, there are probably a lot of ways in which I suck, so to only pick one of them…

I’ll go that one way in which I suck is that I have like zero motivation. Aside from doing things that seem amusing at the moment, doing anything I have to do is so incredibly daunting, sometimes I don’t.

Tom, I could ask you anything, because I only know you as a self-effacing poet. So, from snippets I picked up from Twitter I ask,

What is your favorite video game, and how often do you play it?

    Christine:

Favorite Video Game, as with any favorite, is so hard to narrow down. It depends upon a great number of factors including mood, number of people involved, etc.

The one I spend the most time playing is World of Warcraft, and I play just about every day. But I do like me some Rock Band too.

    Hey Tom!

Are you still playing the honesty game?

    If so:

What is one thing you’d do if you knew you wouldn’t get caught that you wouldn’t do otherwise?

blythe’s last blog post..why the hell not?

  7. tom on July 21, 2008 2:54 pm

Blythe, that question required a lot of thought. Not the first one, because the answer is maybe and was quick, but the second, which intrigued me.

All I can really think is that I don’t want to do anything that getting caught dissuades me from.

I don’t want to rob banks or anything unsavory like that.

Rather, I might say that there are things I do that the social costs is too high for me to do, or do around other people. (or legal cost) For instance, to obliquely answer your question, I find clothes a bit of a hassle and sometimes I just don’t wear any. I’m not a nudist and I have no agenda, I just find clothes annoying sometimes.
