I meant to post this yesterday, but it was full beyond full, so it got delayed. However, as I am trying very dilligently to not finish a four page paper before class tonight, I’m posting now. Yay procrastination!
In the U.S., we are probably ignoring National Poetry Month, but on the Blogosphere, it’s yawping like Robin Williams. It’s unlikely anyone will see much from me, but everyone should be checking out readwritepoem for the prompts and articles. That also means it’s NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month) and for those of you who started yesterday, keep up the good work, and if you didn’t know about it until know, just backdate a post and on one will be the wiser. Thirty poems in thirty days. If anyone has a link to THE site for NaPoWriMo, drop a comment, I couldn’t find one in a quick google search.
Some quick notes:
- During class last night someone used the phrase, “bag full of dreams.” I’m sure I’ve heard it before, but it stuck anyway. Someone should use it in a poem and make it not seem trite.
- While discussing materialism, capitalism, and marxism, the following thought occurred to me: The triumph of the human spirit is in foregoing that which you need to obtain that which you want; especially if it is useless. A personal “screw you” from me to Maslow.
- The tables in the classroom had been moved. I was unable to cope with the change. Without exaggeration, I was almost in tears because the tables had been moved. I think I’m just about gone. Get the padded room ready, will you?
- Before I posted this, I realized I had the title as “No Poetry Month.” Slip, or prognostication about my writing? Hopefully the first, as I have two poems due Monday for my workshop class.

Should I be emailing you at this address to check in on RWP?
